Description: Well, It was an idea discovered when Surya Makarla, Executive Steering Member AIDS Ride 2008 & 2010, happened to live as a guest with the crazy Canadian couple, Ewa and Bart who indeed offered free accommodation to attend the 16th International AIDS Conference, Toronto. Surya learned that these crazy bikers do cross country bike ride for a good beer! We together discovered why not for a cause like HIV/AIDS??? Being that was a big challenge and thrill for us to be ever first time as bikers to bicycle such a freaking inter-Continental ride, except that we were used to bicycle in our grades 7th, 8th, 9th.. shuttling from our home to school!  It was also first time for us to land in United States of America with little acquaintance but rode confidently all along all kinds of routes, lanes of freeways, interstate highways, etc. Of course! cops have had pretty good track on us! . Please visit: http://aidsride2008.blogspot.com.

Well, AIDS Ride 2008 biking created a significant mark of continuity in connectivity of the past 16th International AIDS Conference IAC , Toronto & the 17th IAC, Mexico City. On our way in the towns and cities, we made our possible efforts with the resource available to implement different strategies  like International Peace Tiles, Murals creation, Free Hugs to fight stigma & discrimination, Seminars on HIV/AIDS etc. It was an incredible journey of 52 days (including 8 days rest) covered about 3900 km (excluding approximately 100km due change of plans and routes and sometimes mislead and lost), working on our mission and enjoying the beauty of Canada, USA & Mexico!!!  Please watch for more details at www.bcareindia.org, (Note: www.aidsride2008.org is expired)

A Collaborative Mural for the IAC 2006, Toronto, Presented by: Ja In Us Art, Canada & B’Care India

This painting emphasizes our current battle against HIV/AIDS, one of the foremost Millennium Development Goals. It is a simple but emotional depiction of a child whose parents have become victims of AIDS – a child whose future is suddenly in jeopardy, produced by Mr. Surya Prakash Makarla, Director & Founder of B’Care India, and Javid Alibhai representing Ja-In-Us Art, Canada. The goal of the artists is to motivate conference participants to hold fast to the commitments they have made as well as their immediate responsibilities to fulfill current targets that will pave ways for the realization of the goals set by United Nations for the year 2015.   The mural also attempts to reach out to couples to try to make their lives safe by being aware of the destruction that HIV/AIDS can inflict, as well as alert infected parents who may be ignorant of the fact that this deadly disease can be passed on to their infants. Finally, the mural intends to send a message to the world to save the destitute orphans affected and infected by the pandemic HIV/AIDS, since there is no argument that today’s youth, whether in the first or third world, are our future.

BEAUTIFUL STRUGGLE: THE 1,000 WORD PROJECT, http://www.beautifulstruggle.org: Hermosa lucha: el proyecto de 1.000 palabras: The documentation of the process of designing and creating the mural is imperative for fulfilling the objective of the BS1000 Project.Keeping MDGs in mind our/ my interpretation of the struggle that our community confronts, pertaining to HIV/ AIDS, malaria or any other diseases. Malaria is curable but when we see the pandemic like HIV/AIDS it is killing our brothers and sisters every minute and a second. My interpretation was made to Khali a Godess of Hindu deity who was an incarcination set of women goddesses who were the wives of 'Trimoorthy' (3 Supremes), Shiva the destroyer, Vishnu the ruler a Bramha the creator. The Khali's incarcination was due to the demand of the global community that includes, Devalok (world of gods families) and the Bhoolok, people's world to kill a demon called Mahishashura. He troubles the God's families as well as the People in the world. Mahishasura's apocalypse was massive.  Mahishashura cannot be killed by any god except the union of Parvathi wife of Shiva, Lakshmi wife of Vishnu and Saraswathi wife of Bramha. But this situation is rare of the rare. So is why the Mahishashura is compared with the pandemic HIV and the Goddess Khali is back by the union of Trimoorthy's wives, to kill the HIV(Mahishashura). The impeccable union is heavy and too hard to bear by anyone as it involves enormous potential power. The picture/ painting is a contemporary as well as a traditional. So is a fusion painting of Khali with a sword killing the virus (Mahishashura, a virus shaped pierced by the sword) and the Khal is seen in ferocious expression and rage. HER expression alerts the universe and the global community. The Khali is riding a lion with a Rathasarathi (driver) the human face, a self-portrait. Greetings of Ganesha with 'Swasthik'  marks and 'Om' the sonically creation of the world in the hands of Khali, is also seen. Usually, Khali is known to be the creator of the creators or the Sonic Origin for 'Life'.  The aggressiveness enables the Khali to protrude her tongue twisted (basic expression of Khali) amid the long ape like canines to form a Red Ribbon, signifying "Caring for HIVers" a slogan of ""B'Care"". There is another important thing that the "Nude". Khali was discovered pedestrian about her dressing code; this signifies the extent of ferociousness! And the 'sex appeal' signifies the YOUTH mostly surrounded/ falling pray to the morphological appeal, the status that blinds them to get afflicted by the HIV/ AIDS. This is how the documentation process of designing and creating the mural is imperative to fulfill the objectives of BS 1000 words project. The painting size is 6 feet by 3 feet. Oil on Canvas medium. Resources B'Care India. Painted by the Director, B'Care, Surya Prakash Makarla.
